Briley Bowling has spent his high school career doing more than filling a stat sheet—he has helped continue the Tigers’ winning basketball tradition.
A varsity player since the eighth grade, Briley has been a part of teams that captured three area championships, made three appearances at the Northwest Regional Tournament, and advanced to the Elite Eight during his junior year.
His dedication and leadership earned him All-Area honors in 2025, along with the responsibility of serving as team captain for multiple seasons. “I want to leave a lasting impact,” Briley said. “Being a captain means so much to me, and I’m proud to be a glue guy on the floor and do whatever the team needs.”
While basketball is his first love, Briley has also helped the Tigers claim three Winston County golf championships and appreciates the lifelong nature of golf. “Basketball is my favorite,” he said, “but I know I’ll be able to play golf the rest of my life.”
Briley’s success extends beyond athletics. He carries a 3.9 GPA and is actively involved in DECA, FFA, SGA, and Peer Helpers.

Looking ahead, Briley plans to pursue a degree in sports management at The University of Alabama. He already has an internship opportunity lined up with Alabama women’s basketball coach Kristy Curry. “I’ve been an Auburn fan my whole life,” Briley admitted, “but when opportunity comes, I’ve got to take it.”
Faith plays a central role in Briley’s life. A member of Liberty Baptist Church, his guiding verse is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). He also values the wisdom of the older members of his church, noting how much he has learned from them.
Briley draws inspiration from professional golfer Scottie Scheffler, whom he admires for his faith and humility. “He’s a man of Christ,” Briley said. “He’s not boastful about what he does.”
In his free time, Briley enjoys golfing, fishing, spending time with family and friends, and being involved in church—simple pursuits that reflect his grounded character.
Whether on the court, on the course, or in the classroom, Briley’s legacy will be defined not just by wins and accolades, but by the attitude, faith, and leadership he leaves behind. 67
