Senior Jaylee Calloway has made the most of her time at Winston County High School, where she is quickly establishing herself as a standout student-athlete and role model. A versatile competitor, Jaylee plays outside hitter for the Lady Jackets volleyball team and contributes as both a guard and post player in basketball.

Jaylee has been involved in sports most of her life, beginning basketball at the age of eight and volleyball at 12. While she values both sports, volleyball holds a special place for her. “I understand it better, and I feel like I’m a better player,” she said.

Her confidence and dedication have paid off—she earned all-county and all-area honors in volleyball in both 2024 and 2025. This past season, the WCHS volleyball team advanced to the state semifinals, marking a highlight in her athletic career.

Beyond athletics, Jaylee stays active through FCCLA and takes her role as a leader seriously.  “People are looking up to me, and I need to be a good role model,” she said, adding, “it pushes me to be better.”

Jaylee admires former UConn star Paige Bueckers—now with the WNBA’s Dallas Wings—not just for her athletic ability, but for her personality. “She’s funny on and off the court, and that’s something I admire in a person,” she said.

After graduation, Jaylee plans to pursue a career as an OB sonographer and hopes to attend either Wallace State Community College or Northwest Shoals Community College.

When asked how she hopes to be remembered, her answer reflects her character more than her stats: “I want to be remembered as a kind person—someone people can laugh with and have fun around.”

On weekends, Jaylee enjoys watching football, listening to country music, and spending time with her family—simple moments that balance a busy life. Whether on the court or in the classroom, Jaylee Calloway continues to leave a positive impact, leading with determination, humility, and a sense of joy that resonates with everyone around her. 67
